My Review

Evanescent had a fairly simple storyline - or so I thought. You could simply sum it up as a book about a girl who came to be in the protection of three immortal boys for the purpose of helping them to break their immortality curse. You can say that and you'd be right but there was so many more little things that made up a nice little story.

I thought the idea of the story was quite different and I really enjoyed the different feelings and ideas that were put into this book. I would've enjoyed to delve a bit further into the characters' lives but I was content with what I got.

The ending of this book was perfect. I had no idea where it was going to go, I could not decide which path we were going to take. This writing in this book was good, but right at the end there, it became great. There were many ways this book could have ended, but once I read the ending I knew that this was the right way for the book to end. It was fantastic!

The only thing that disappointed me about this book was about the creature hunting Bronwen. There wasn't very much action, no very epic fights, and Bronwen wasn't a big help. I thought the creature would've played a bigger part in it, rather than showing up for small sections, and I was looking forward to that, but I still enjoyed the book none-the-less.

This was a very easy read. It was easy to slip in and out of the story, so I could come back to the real world yet still easily find my way back into the story. The book was good and the ending was superb, and I'm really keen to read more by Gabriella Lepore.
