Copper Ravens by Jennifer Allis Provost Blog Tour - Guest Post + Giveaway

Copper Ravens (Copper Legacy, #2)

Copper Ravens (Copper Legacy #2) by Jennifer Allis Provost
Published: 17th June 2014 by Spencer Hill Press

Sara should be happy.

She has what every girl wants: a man who loves her, a beautiful home, and wealth beyond imagining. She rescued her brother from the Peacekeepers, destroyed the Iron Queen, and doesn’t have to go to her boring job any more.

And yet… Sara still doesn’t know if her father is alive or dead. Her mother hides in the garden, brooding about her missing husband. Her sister, the Inheritor of Metal, is scared of her own shadow, and her brother spends his days fighting and gambling. To add to Sara’s misery, the new queen (gold, of course) is more than a bit crazy, she misses her life in the Mundane world, and, worst of all, Micah wants to have children. A lot of them.

As Sara wavers between happiness and homesickness, a conspiracy emerges against the Raven clan, implicating them in a plot to dethrone the Gold Queen. How can Sara prove her family’s innocence, and become the consort Micah needs her to be, without losing herself in the process?

A Day In the Life of Jennifer Allis Provost

Before I describe my days, a little background. Not only am I an author, I’m also a wife, mother of twins (and a dog, cat and parrot), and a publicist for Spencer Hill Middle Grade. Oh, and I have a day job, where I manage a multimillion dollar account for a Fortune 100 company. So, yeah, my days aren’t exactly typical.

Weekdays find me getting up around six, working for an hour or so with my publicist hat on, then heading over to the day job. I spend the next nine or so hours wearing pant suits and sensible shoes, behaving in a professional manner, jotting down notes for my next scene, daydreaming during staff meetings…

I get home around six, immediately shower to wash the corporate off, and make dinner for my family. Once the Wonder Twins are in bed, I work on my own projects, be it drafting, editing or revising.

Of course, that’s a workday dominated by my day job. On weekends, I can be found at author fairs, conventions, or trade shows. I just got back from BEA 2014, the largest publishing trade show on the east coast. It’s like heaven for book lovers, and I consider myself lucky to attend.

I think the variety in my days is what keeps my writing fresh. Everything around me is an endless source of inspiration, from the conversations I have with fellow authors to that wacky coworker a few cubicles over from mine. After all, one never knows where one will be inspired.
