Interview with Jacinta Maree

Can you tell us a little bit about your My Demonic Ghost series?

My Demonic Ghost is a young adult paranormal/ horror. Weird right, you don’t usually see YA and horror together but there you go. It’s about a corrupted afterlife as you tag along with Rachael Hastings as she unfortunately inherits the demon ghost that had possessed her father.

This ghost calls himself Lock, and aside from his wicked temper and trust issues, Lock and Rachael team up and start to experience the bitter sweet taste of first love.

The Reapers, which is book two, takes on the point of view of Jordon and explains about the behind the scenes that happened during Book one that Lock and Rachael weren’t aware of.

Where did you get the idea/inspiration for the series?

I got the idea from the French philosopher, Descartes and his teachings about our consciousness.

Is there a character you've written that you love, or are more proud of than the rest?

Well, I am proud of the character Mother. She is a seven armed serpent woman, her face concealed beneath the folds of black syrup hair that drips from the crown of her head constantly. She is the gate keeper to the Seven Deadly Sins and is the size of a large car. She can’t talk, but communicates through a series of clicking.

What interesting hobbies/interests do you have?

I’m currently trying to learn how to play the violin, which is a beautiful instrument. In my free time I like to play video games though.

What do you love most about being an author?

That I have a reason to stay inside and write about the weirdness happening in my head. And of course, the fact I can talk to others about these characters and how they were affected by the story.

If you could have lunch with any three people in the world, who would they be and why?

The Winchester brothers from Supernatural. They seem like the funniest people ever.

Any parting words of wisdom?

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Thanks for the great interview Jacinta! I've got a couple of friends who would love to join you (and the boys) for that lunch!

Author Bio - Jacinta Maree

Self confessed chocaholic, Jacinta was born and raised in Melbourne Australia with her loving family of five. Even as a child Jacinta had an itch to write. Writing was the one constant hobby she clung to, also trying her hand at piano, flute, tennis, horseback riding and drama.

Jacinta works full time in the family business and spends her afternoons either playing basketball, reading, writing or hanging out with friends. She is always happy to try something new; getting her real estate license, practicing ninjitshu, Zumba and parkour to name a few.

For her future, Jacinta sees herself writing. It is a large part of her identity and something she hopes to continue. Aside from her love of stories she loves Japan and its unique and beautiful culture and history. From their delicious sushi dishes right down to their wooden sandals and kimonos. She is also a huge cat person and loves to snuggle up in front of the fire for a good movie or book. Her favorite genres are paranormal and fantasy but she also loves anything written by thriller writer, Stephen King.
