Operation Tree Roper: An Eye Above by Robert Polk Blog Tour - Tens List + Giveaway

Operation Tree Roper: An Eye Above by Robert Polk
Published: 7th October 2014 by Adventures: Anaiah Press

Twelve-year-old Declan Parker was only born with one eye, but all he seems to have trouble seeing in proper perspective is himself. All he wants is for kids to see him as normal before he starts a new school in the fall. To that end, he sets out to make money helping with his dad’s tree care business.

Unfortunately, when his dad lands in the hospital after a climbing accident, Declan’s surgery hopes are wrecked. His only hope remains in a neighbor girl and her uncle, a wounded army veteran. Can they help him save his dad’s business, or will Declan’s once-courageous drive turn into total despair?

Operation Tree Roper: An Eye Above is a well-crafted story about a strong, dauntless young man who redefines the value of self-reflection. Declan is a character you won’t be able to forget.

Tens List

Thanks for having me on your blog! There are so many wonderful middle grade books that I’d like to recommend to readers, and still many more which I haven’t been able to read yet, that I almost don’t know where to begin with my guest post. Also, my tastes fluctuate based on my mood. And my mood is most often influenced by the seven little people who call me “Dad”. Nevertheless, the following list contains my current favorites, and I don’t envision a whole lot
of change within the top three. But remember, tomorrow this list may be different. For I’ll surely read more great books and I will continue to be inspired by my “littles”.

Top Ten Books for the Young and Old by Robert Polk

2. Wonder

3. One Crazy Summer

4. Rules

5. Okay For Now

6. Extra Yarn

7. Beautiful Lie

8. Flipped

10. Where the Wild Things Are

Thanks for the awesome list! I can totally relate to your mood/taste fluctuation - I have at least 10 'favourite' books which I need to be in certain, different moods to read. (Also, a tip to anyone who hasn't read Bridge to Terabithia: have tissues handy!)
